Awareness and the mind

I watched a YouTube video by an Australian monk who studied in Hawaii it was short but very informative about the mind and awareness. Think of awareness as an orb, a bright glowing orb in your mind you can move it around your mind to experience different emotions/thoughts this is awareness as I understand it to be. The orb, your awareness is in your mind and you can control it, close your eyes and think of a happy thought, your first kiss with the one you love. Be aware of how you are feeling, warm comfortable happy this is a good feeling and your vibration is high you feel good; the same is if you think of a sad thought with opposite negative low frequency vibrations. Awareness is also used when you are engaged in communicating face to face it can drift of thinking about what you want to say next or something catches your eye then all of a sudden your not talking or should I say not with the person you are communicating with. I am guilty of being distracted and that is because I am not controlling my orb/awareness.

I have never meditated but have watched YouTube of how to do this and there are a million and one ways people tell you how to do it; but I watched one and it was about the chatty monkey brain always chatter, chatter the master said all you have to do is be aware of just your breathing, breath in breath out focus on just that. No I haven’t meditated yet however I liked how this was discribed, and remember in my first blog I talked about my anger and the six week course with activities?

There was one activity I did and loved it was to relax the body and only took 15 minutes this was about awareness but at the time it wasn’t made clear to me. So what you do is get to a quiet comfortable place room, chair, bed etc and with the instruction of the voice it takes you through squeezing parts of your body then relaxing, your face, shoulders, arms and fists, stomach, buttox, thighs, calves, feet and toes. I would most of the time be snoring my head of before the end it was excellent and still is. But again it was all about awareness of surrounding area, my mind and body.
