Mindfulness in UK schools

Fantastic news that over 300 schools in the UK are introducing mindfulness for mental wellness into the classrooms. Just started this blog after listening to Wim Hof say it’s incredible that we can send rockets to the moon and create wonderful technology but we don’t teach our children happiness, strength and good health. Starting at primary age it’s great that children are being tought how to relax through different techniques and talk about their feelings. Tuning into their minds and thoughts and being able to talk about how they are feeling.

Mindfulness or awareness of my thoughts and actions is what I too am learning but then going deeper into understanding what feelings are that create different moods and these moods/feelings are frequencies and they vibrate. I then want to vibrate at a good positive frequency, just like the song, “Good vibrations,” their is truth in the title and song. Music and dancing make us feel good that’s why we have been doing it for thousands of years surely. Find something that makes you happy.

I love being by the sea, nature, it’s simply beautiful, the sound of the waves, seagulls, the wind, the sun all of it just makes me feel happy. But I have only grown to love and appreciate the sea in recent years. I have learnt to pause and be thankful for so many things and in doing so my life and that of my family’s has got better and better. Being thankful having gratitude is very important, but you have to believe and feel it otherwise you only kid yourself.

Mindfulness to me means being happy and connecting with your thoughts and feelings but to put into practice everyday that’s the hard bit because it takes action, responsibility and will power. Today I was talking about how amazing our minds and the power of mental health are because they can stop us from doing and achieving so much.
